Working with key organisations, such as the Science & Technology Facilities Council (SFTC) and Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (Dstl), we find suppliers that can help contribute to the UK’s science & technology research programme across both the civil and defence community.
STFC is renowned for its world leading scientific research in fields such as bio-medicine, physics, chemistry, materials, accelerator technology, engineering and computational science. In supporting STFC at two of their key campuses in Oxfordshire and Cheshire, we bring suppliers into direct contact with their scientists, engineers, technologists, and buyers. We also help support the Diamond Light Source – the UK’s national synchrotron facility, a world-leading particle accelerator that generates intense beams of X-rays, infrared, and ultraviolet light, used for cutting-edge scientific research across multiple disciplines such as medicine, geological and environmental studies, structural genomics and archaeology.
Dstl is an executive agency of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) providing cutting-edge science and technology to support national security, defence operations, and military capabilities. The organisation works closely with the UK Armed Forces, government departments, academia, and industry to develop innovative solutions for complex defence and security challenges including: Defence Research & Innovation, Threat Assessment & Countermeasures, Weapons & Protection Systems, Information & Cybersecurity, Collaboration with Industry & Academia and Support for Military Operations.
We work with Dstl at their Porton Down facility in Wiltshire supporting the ‘SME Searchlight’ programme, an initiative aimed at engaging with non-traditional defence suppliers, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs), academia, and innovators. Its goal is to bring new and disruptive technologies into the UK defence sector. In supporting Dstl, we also provide opportunities for the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and companies from Porton Science Park to identify cutting-edge innovations and foster collaborative discussions.
